Centre: 61.1510, 10.5551 ## Licence and rules Advisory - Rod fishing is allowed in all lakes and rivers from 1 Jan to 31 Dec. - Fishing in Mesnaelva is allowed all year below Øvstdalsfossen. - Net fishing with bottom nets is allowed from ice-out until the ice forms, except in September. - In Nord-Mesna, net fishing is allowed from 15 May to 31 Aug, and net fishing for whitefish from 11 Oct until the ice forms. - Rod fishing with 1 rod in all rivers and lakes, and with 2 rods from a boat. - Protected zones: Nord-Mesna from the regulation dam to Danielsflø, and the fish channels at the outlets of Reinsvatn and Melsjøen. - Fishing from a boat is not allowed in Landedammen, Abbortjern, Matfartjern, Agntjern, Koltjern and Reinsvatn. - A belly boat is allowed in Abbortjern as a trial project. - Ice fishing with a handline and perch fishing with fyke nets are allowed in Melsjøen, Mjogsjøen, Matfartjern, Agntjern, Koltjern, Vesletjern, Avskåkån and Nord-Mesna. - The rules PDF also includes Nevelvann. - The net licence allows any mesh up to 39 mm. - The maximum number of nets per angler is 15 in Nevelvann, 8 in Melsjøen, but 2 in July, and 5 in Mjogsjøen. - In Nord-Mesna, the minimum mesh is 39 mm. - Nets must be marked with a name, be at most 25 metres long, be at least 50 metres from regulation dams, inlets and outlets where there are no marker posts, and must not be in the water between 10:00 and 18:00. - In Nord-Mesna, the fishing rules of Ringsaker Jakt- og Fiskeområde apply, and the otter board is allowed there from 15 May to 31 Aug with 1 otter board per angler, a maximum of 12 flies and 50 metres of line. - The listing states no catch limit. - Children under 16 fish for free. - Verify with Fåberg Østsides Utmarkslag.
