The Fisking i Valdres joint licence covers about 70 small and large lakes and rivers in all six Valdres municipalities, among them Vangsmjøsa, Slidrefjorden, Strandefjorden, Volbufjorden and parts of Begna. Brown trout is the most common species, but many lakes also hold perch and a few hold Arctic char. Whitefish live in the lower part of the Begna watercourse, and you can fish for pike in Begna below the Eid power station.

One rod per angler, from the shore only. Spoons and small plugs along rocky edges, at inlets and in Begna.

### Fly in rivers and lakes

Class 4-6 with nymph and dry fly in Begna and at the inlets of the lakes.

### Worm and float

Worm is a permitted bait on the joint licence. Fish from the shore along the edges and at stream mouths.

Hard to catch on lures, usually taken on net or worm. Rarely a sport target, but present in many waters.

Big, visible baits. A wire trace is a must. Shallow water early and late in the season.

Advisory

- The joint licence is valid from 15 June to 15 August.
- Outside this period you must buy the local licence for the lake you want to fish.
- Rod fishing from the shore, not from a boat. 1 rod per angler.
- Spoon, plug, fly and worm are allowed.
- Otter boards and set gear are not allowed.
- Children fish for free up to and including age 16, and up to and including age 20 in the Øystre and Vestre Slidre state commons.
- Local rules for each lake also apply, see the notices at the lake.
- Tisleiafjorden, Flya, Tisleia at Tisleidammen and the fly-fishing zones in Tisleia are not included.
- The listing states no catch limit.
