Rendalen søndre statsallmenning is an area of about 170 km² of forest and mountain in the southern and eastern part of Rendalen. You can fish in a river, small brooks, tarns and mountain lakes, among them Søndre Osdalssjøen and Ryensjøen (846 m above sea level). - The road into the area is closed in winter, normally opens at the end of May and closes after heavy snowfall around November.

- Otter boards may be used in Søndre Osdalssjøen and Ryensjøen with an extra payment or a separate otter licence.
