All lakes hold brown trout, and Røyetjønn also holds Arctic char. The Otta follows national road 15 through all of Skjåk and holds grayling over 40 cm from Ofossen to the Lom border, but snow and glacier melt make the river big in summer, and glacial silt colours Pollvatnet turquoise in warm spells. North of Bismo a road goes up to Aursjoen (1098 m above sea level), and further in lies Leirungsvatnet (1370 m above sea level), which is stocked every year. Centre: 61.9466, 7.9978 ## Licence and rules Advisory - The licence has no time limit for the spring or autumn season. - Net fishing is allowed from ice-out until the ice forms again, and ice fishing is allowed with a licence. - The licence covers more than 230 lakes and more than 250 km of fish-bearing river in Skjåk municipality. - In the Otta from the Lom border to Dønfoss you may keep at most 1 fish, brown trout or grayling, over 35 cm per day per licence. - From the outlet of Pollvatnet to Pollfossen the limit is at most 1 brown trout over 35 cm per day per licence. - Live and dead fish as bait are banned. - Everyone under 20 fishes for free with rod and handline. - Outboard motors up to 9.9 hp are allowed without an application on Raudalsvatnet, Breidalsvatnet, Grønvatnet, Aursjoen, parts of Skim, Kolbeinsvatnet and Liavatnet, and on Leirungsvatnet, Torsvatnet and Lundadalsvatnet after an application to the conservation authority. - Electric motors up to 800 W are allowed on Heggjebottvatnet, Vuluvatnet, Heimdalsvatnet, Grotlivatnet, Legervatna and Langvatnet. - Net fishing in Kolbeinsvatnet and Leirungsvatnet is for residents only, and the rule booklet sets its own net rules for each lake. - Verify with Skjåk Almenning.
