Gear and lures

  • Spinning

Trolling for big trout in Femund

Femund and Engersjøen are known for trolling for big, fish-eating brown trout. The rules allow at most 6 rods or lures per boat there. Keep close to the shore in a canoe or small boat, because the wind can rise fast.

  • Fly

Grayling and whitefish in the fly zones

Class 4-6 in Isterfossen, Galtstrømmen, Femundselva at Galthue and Engeråa. Use imitations of large mayflies or midges during a hatch. Only a traditional fly rod is allowed in the zones.

  • Bait

Ice fishing with a jigging spoon

Up to three ice rods per angler while you fish actively and keep watch. Only one ice rod is allowed in Sømåkvolvet and on Hognsjøen.
