Øystre Slidre statsallmenning og Heimdalen
Øystre Slidre state common and Heimdalen extend north and east of the valley and cover more than 60 percent of Øystre Slidre municipality, from birch and conifer forest to bare mountain. The area has about 80 fishing lakes and around 100 km of brooks and streams that hold fish. All lakes hold brown trout, only 3 of them hold perch, and Eurasian minnow is established in most of them. Vinstre (1032 m above sea level) is the largest and most important fishing lake.

- Rod licence for the whole state common and the part of Heimdalen that lies in Øystre Slidre. The rod and otter licence also allows an otter board in 6 tarns. An otter board on Vinstre and Tansbergfjorden needs a separate licence with a limited number of cards.

The fjellstyre recommends worm in brooks and in lakes below the high mountains. In winter you fish with a jigging spoon through the ice and watch the gear at all times.

Active at first light and dusk. Lures and flies. Fish along edges, inlets and rocks.

A shoaling fish. Small jigs, worms and spinners. Coloured water can take louder colours.
