Varald statsskog (Kongsvinger)

Varald statsskog lies on Finnskogen 40 km east of Kongsvinger and covers 70,000 decares of conifer forest with many lakes, and the property borders Møkeren and Varaldsjøen. Kongsvinger JFF stocks brown trout in several lakes every year, and brown trout over a kilo are caught every year. Vikeråa is a small river with flowing water over several kilometres, and Bjørntjernet is reserved for fly fishing. The area also has many perch and pike lakes.

    Small spoons and spinners from the shore. The association stocks brown trout of 400-700 grams in several lakes every year.

    Fly in Bjørntjernet and Vikeråa

    Class 4-6. Bjørntjernet is fly fishing only and holds large brown trout. Vikeråa is a small river where fly, worm and small lures all work.

    Worm and ice-fishing rod

    Worm catches brown trout both in the lakes and in Vikeråa. In winter the ice-fishing rod catches brown trout and perch in many of the lakes.
